ACWA Conference

On May 3-5, 2005, CALeep representatives participated in the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Spring 2005 Conference in San Jose, California. The conference was attended by more than a thousand delegates and exhibitors representing various interests in water agency management.

During the conference, CALeep’s program manager Tom Crooks and Inland Empire Utilities Agency’s Executive Manager of Policy Development Martha Davis, conducted CALeep’s first outreach workshop. Their presentation provided attendees with an overview of the CALeep program and conveyed some of the findings that are captured in the program’s workbook product.

Mr. Crooks conveyed the value proposition that the workbook offers to communities interested in energy efficiency, while Ms. Davis demonstrated how CALeep has already positively impacted her agency.

Throughout the three day conference, representatives of Navigant Consulting staffed a booth in the exhibition hall to share information and answer questions about the CALeep program. Several conference attendees expressed interest in the program and asked to be included on distribution of the CALeep workbook.
